Service Description
PhonaLab provides acoustic voice analysis tools for educational, research, and clinical documentation purposes. Services include voice parameter measurement, visualization, and report generation.

IMPORTANT: PhonaLab is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice.
PhonaLab is a clinical workflow and documentation support tool that provides acoustic measurements for informational purposes only. It does not diagnose voice disorders or provide medical advice. All clinical decisions must be made by licensed healthcare professionals. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with comprehensive clinical evaluation.
User Responsibilities
As a user, you agree to:
- Use the service only for lawful purposes
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Ensure you have appropriate consent to upload audio recordings
- Avoid entering unnecessary or identifying patient information
- Comply with all laws and professional regulations applicable to your use
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the service
Data Privacy & Healthcare Use
PhonaLab is designed to minimize the handling and storage of protected health information (PHI). PhonaLab does not act as a Business Associate and does not provide services intended for the storage or management of PHI. Users remain solely responsible for ensuring that their use of PhonaLab complies with HIPAA and other applicable healthcare privacy regulations, including obtaining appropriate patient consent and limiting the entry of identifying information.
Professional Use
If you are a healthcare professional using PhonaLab in a clinical setting, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for:
- Clinical interpretation of analysis results
- Treatment decisions and recommendations
- Compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Obtaining appropriate patient consent
Accuracy and Validation
While PhonaLab’s algorithms are validated against established reference implementations (such as Praat), acoustic measurements should always be interpreted by qualified professionals and considered alongside other clinical information.
Limitation of Liability
PhonaLab and its creators provide this service “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including decisions made based on analysis results.
Changes to Service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify users of significant changes.
Payments and Billing
Payments for PhonaLab Pro subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, invoicing, and payment processing on our behalf. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Paddle's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
