PhonaLab is designed to operate with minimal data retention. Depending on how you use the service, the following data may be processed transiently:
- Audio recordings uploaded for acoustic analysis (processed in real time)
- User-provided labels (such as optional patient labels used only for report generation)
- Account information (email and name) when you create an account
- Anonymous usage and performance analytics
PhonaLab does not store patient names, audio recordings, or analysis results in persistent databases.
Data Use
Data is used solely to provide voice analysis services, including performing acoustic measurements, generating downloadable reports at the user’s request, maintaining user accounts, and improving system reliability. PhonaLab does not sell, rent, or share personal data for marketing purposes.
Data Storage & Retention
PhonaLab follows privacy-by-design and data minimization principles:
- Audio recordings and analysis results are processed transiently and are not retained after analysis is complete.
- Optional labels entered by users (such as patient names) are used only for immediate report generation and are not stored.
- Account and billing information is retained only as necessary to provide the service.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), restricted system access, and secure infrastructure providers. PhonaLab is designed to minimize exposure of sensitive information by avoiding unnecessary data storage.
Healthcare & HIPAA Considerations
PhonaLab is designed to support privacy-sensitive clinical workflows by minimizing the handling and storage of protected health information (PHI). PhonaLab does not claim HIPAA compliance or certification. Healthcare professionals using PhonaLab remain responsible for ensuring that their use of the service complies with HIPAA and other applicable regulations, including obtaining appropriate patient consent and avoiding the entry of unnecessary identifying information.

- Export reports generated during your session
